Tutorial 08

Public domain This week tutorial was all about adding Misic to my Ruby project and the process of doing it is quite similar to the process we learned during last semester when we were building our 3D Game. Although it is always good to refresh.   So, I applied music to different part of my Game and adjusted it according to actions being performed by Ruby, for example when she walks it is one music, but when she collects berries the sound changes , I also applied different sound to my enemy when it is broken and when it is being repaired.   When I applied all necessary scripts in my Game I saved it through the Build, which again was a similar process to last semester.   So far, I am happy with my tutorials a...

Tutorial 07

Image
my screenshot In this week tutorial I learned new skills which I did not have before.   I learned how to make a chart with Rubie’s life and how to put a portrait into this chart and adjust it and make sure that it changes in sizes when the main screen changes its sizes.   It is especially useful to know as we may need it if we want to play our Game on both desktop and mobile devices.   my screenshot  I also learned how to put an extra character into my scene and animate it, animation of the character is similar how we did it before, especially the asset file already has all poses for animation, so it is all ready, all you need to do is to put it into one file.   Also, the new thing in this tutorial was to be able to make my frog to be able to give different tasks to Ruby when they meet. This action adds to the Game and makes it more interesting, as already we have enemies in the Game, collectible items and now tasks that can be giv...

Unity tutorial 05 week 11

Image
my image This week in Unity 5 I learned that it is quite handy to switch from 3D view to 2D view duri ng building the game.  Also,  this tutorial was quite useful as it taught me to place  objects   randomly.   Also,  it was  especially useful  a s I implemented some of the code from this tutorial into my game. It was a code which allows the player to des troy targets with click and sensor which is quite handy for my game as the player in my game should  destroy  its targets as well. I could not figure out at first how to approach the fact that my player had to collect its targe ts so I used the code from Unity 5 , it did not work the way I wanted but I used some i...

Unity tutorial week 10

Image
My image  So far everything is working , my wolf is jumping over eggs. I had to change the plot a little bit as i could not figure out how to make the eggs disappear when the wolf jumps on them , at least something is working . I have two more weeks to fix some details, so i do hope i will get. help with. that. Instead of doing Unity 5 prototype that is provided by Unity, i followed the instructions and managed toapply random targets in my game and also , now the player in my game can count. the score.

Unity tutorial week 9

Image
My image my image Unit 4 Unity tutorial was all about hitting enemies and making them disappear when hit during the  game.  The tutorial was  quite straight forward and easy to  follow,  and it was more challenging in the second part when I had to apply  the knowledge gained in the tutorial to the soccer challenge. I have to say it was not easy at all, although it is the same  methods  I had to use as it was I the tutorial.     I suppose in the tutorial you are repeating the code and only pay attention to the code when something. Goes wrong and you  must  fix  the   problem   , but when it comes to  apply  this code yourself you really  must   think about  which way to do it and how it is going to  work .     I really liked the soccer challenge as there was an opportunity to apply your own code and test  yourself to see  whether you are somewhere near ...

Unity tutorial Week 8

Image
My screenshot from Unit 4 Unity tutorial This week Unity  tutorial  was something different and I really  enjoyed  it, but what I enjoyed more is the fact th at I start completing tutorials a lot quicker and there are  few  mistakes. I still have some question that  I am going to ask during the Lab time, as my code  does not   indicate  any  errors,   although  my Power Indicate does not behave the same way as in the  Tutorials.  When I applied the  code,  it did not give me a red  warning,  but a grey  warning,  then it  disappeared  when I  unchecked  the Power Indicator, but it does not do what it should be  doing,  or  I  just  cannot  play it  corre...

Great experience with Unity Tutorial 06 this week

Image
image from my tutorial This week  tutorial  is my favourite as I  sorted  everything out with my settings in  Unity,  everything  worked,  and sound effects and music were applied correctly to my  scene .  My experience with Unity  tutorial  gave me a lot  of confidence and this is much relief as I am going to start working on my prototype. To   honest I think lots of my problems were because I was using. Brackets instead of Visual  Studio,  so hopefully  from now following Unity tutorials  will not  take that much time., although this w eek I  did not  have any big problems with Unity I could not finish Challenge with  balloons  before midnight, so I will  be doing it  later  Sunday and simply will add this post with the screenshots of my work.   So far there are lots of tools I learned from this  tutorial  that can be applied in my gam...

Unity Tutorial 05 struggle.

Image
My image from my tutorial. Week 6  tutorial  was  incredibly challenging  for me. I have to say there are q uestions left that I could not find answers on you tube . There is some progress in my understanding of Unity for sure. It gets easier and more logical  at this stage and coding is quite understandable, although I had to redo lesson 3.2 four times. By the last  time I  finally  got rid of confusion with positioning my  scene  which I always found difficult before , now I am  finally  fine with it, but other issues  raised .    My code is all fine and I double checked everything, but when I applied my  Repeat Background , my obstacles became invisible,  they are there and when I pressed  played,  they appear at some point and when I try to focus on  them,  they are there, b ut invisible. I also could not use my spacebar when code was applied, but  it  is somethi...

Unity Tutorial 04 learning to jump

Image
My image I found Unit 3  tutorial  quite useful and straight forward. As I noticed when you want to apply certai n movements to you game It is repeating from one  tutorial  to another. You always need to use  Player Controller  script  and  Rigid body  and Collider. What I always find  difficult,  and  that  is where my problem is to posi tion the scene properly at the very beginning. When I positioned my scene in Unit 3 and the n applied  Rigid body  which works fine and a  Collider  box which is supposed to put gravity on my  object  which  did not work. So a s a  result,  my character jumps ok which what I learned new from the  tutorial  but  it  does not have  gravity so it just dives into the road, my collider box is applied but  I  n eed to position it properly on my characters  body,  so I am going to revise it again and...
